What Parents Need to Know
Guiding your children in their lives of faith can be a challenge. Here are some supports to help you parent faithfully (please note: "faithfully" is the operative word, not "perfectly")!

In the pages below, you will find articles, books, and ideas to help you live a life of faith at home.  As parents, we are each others best companions on the journey. Dr. Elizabeth is always available to listen, talk and try out new ideas!

Raising Christian Children at Home
We know that faith is "caught" not taught, but why is it important to be intentional about shaping faith at home?  These articles help answer the question!

As parents in a secular culture, it can be difficult to talk with our kids about why being a Christian matters. Our schools and other organizations in which our children are involved shape our kids to be "good," "moral," and "make a difference." It is hard to disagree with that.  How is this the same or different from helping our children practice the Christian faith?  Barrett Johnson offers some provocative answers in this blog post.

This article from the Christian Century is an interview with Vern Bengeston. He spent 35 years studying how religious faith is passed from generation to generation. Grab your family Bible (if you don't have one, now is great time to get one!) and share your favorite Bible story with your children. Not only will you pass the story to your children, but you will remember those who passed it on to you!
